The Taste of New Orleans (Elective Post)

Throughout my time spent so far in New Orleans, I have had the privilege of trying many different cuisine options (we even got to take a cuisine tour). I have tried to branch out a little bit here and there from what I usually eat in order to experience the culture in a better way here. The first night we ate at the Original Pierre Maspero's. That night I ate a cheeseburger, but the fries were flavored with a cajun spice which was absolutely delicious. I loved the feel of this restaurant because all of the waiters and waitresses were dressed in black professionally and really made me as the customer feel as though I was in a real French cafe.

My second favorite food that I have had so far has been gelato. Gelato is an ice cream like dish that originated from Italy. The gelato that I tasted had a very smooth texture and was sweeter than ice cream as well. I also loved the cafe that the gelato was served in. My third favorite food was the cajun chicken that I was able to have. The chicken was spicy, but had a better flavor than what I have tasted while living in the North. Overall, the food has been absolutely delicious and I am excited to try more as time continues on.
